After a vehicle is three years old, it is required to have a 'Shacken Inspection'. A Shacken test is graded on a vehicle's cc rating. when vehicles get to about two and a half years old it's value will start to decrease greatly in Japan. So the Japanese consumer tends to start disposing of these vehicles from two and a half years old with limited mileage.
